As you know I am on a quest to find happiness and change my life and to inspire others to do the same. . I have found this video with more tips for a happy life. These ones are the ones that were shouting at me:
1. Take a nap whenever you want. Being tired and sleep deprived makes you feel unhappy. I know for a fact if I am tired and sleep deprived I can be a pain to be with. And somehow when we have other pressure we think that by not sleeping we are being clever. I think this is the words thing to do.
2. Sing in the shower, sing in the car: Singing can change the brain chemistry. Try it out, if you are feeling unhappy start singing a song you like or even listen to it and you will see the difference
. 3. Be yourself. Nowadays we think we need to be nice to everybody and everyone needs to like us. I am guilty of this myself, so we just hide behind facets, and we stop being ourselves, No wonder we get frustrated.
4. Make Goals, Reach Goals: Goals give our life direction. What happens if you get into the car and start the car but you do not know where you are going. Unfortunately many of us do that in life. They get into life and they do not know where they are going. Set your goals, follow them, do something every day that will get you closer to your goals.
5. Don’t nag. Nagging is a bad habit I acquire long ago. I thought if I nag I can get what I want. I learned the hard way that I need to ask for something once and leave it at that. Nagging also sets you in a negative mindset
6. Be forgiving of yourself and others. We somehow expect to be perfect and we cannot forgive ourselves if we do not do the right thing. I am also guilty of this. We are not perfect otherwise we would not be in this world, we are actually here to learn, so no matter what you do, wrong, forgive yourself and forgive others because no one is perfect.
7. Keep it simple, do not stress about small things.
8. Keep good company. It is said that you become the same as the people you are with. So if you want to be successful you need to be with successful people. If you want to be happy, be with happy people.
9. Believe in yourself. This is a big issue with many people. We are all powerful and divine. We are all capable of doing whatever we want to. We have the power. If you do not believe in yourself no one will believe in you.
10. Say “Thank you” a lot. Thanking others and thanking life, being grateful for your day is a great way of attracting more positive things into your life.
11. Say “Please” a lot. Being polite sets you in a good mood with others
12. Be there when people need you. It is great to be able to help people. I love helping people,
13. Make it a habit to do nice things for people who will never find out it was you. For example, pay the toll fees for the car behind you, or pay someone’s dinner bill.
14. Never deprive someone of hope it may be all they have. I know sometimes we try to avoid people getting hurt. We say you should not do that, you are not good for that, but actually hope is a wonderful thing to have and it can take us far. So never say no to someone that is hopeful
15. Don’t be afraid to say I ‘m sorry. It takes away the guilt and sets you in appositive mood. We are all humans and make mistakes
16. Live so that when your children think fairness, integrity, caring and honesty your children think of you.
17. Take responsibility of every area of your life: It is much easier to blame than to take responsibility, but we are the only creator s of our own lives, and therefore we can change it if we do not like it. Do not blame anyone else.
18. Don’t postpone joy. Be happy today, do not wait to have that car, that job or that relationship, and just be happy.
19. Smile, you never know who is watching. Smile and laughter changes the chemistry in your brain. When you smile even if you are on the phone the other person will feel it, and will react in a different way.
20. Dream BIG. You can dream big because you can get what you really want. You are the creator of your own life.
21. Make your dreams come true. It is nice to dream, but you need to act on your dreams and make them come true. You will feel fulfilled and happy.
22. Live each days as if there is no tomorrow. I am sure if we were told that we only have 3 months to live we will change our lives and do all sort of things we never did. It has happened to many. So why do not do it today?
